Website speed optimisation

From £499 · About a week · Nothing to pay upfront

A slow website costs you twice. Visitors leave before the page appears, and Google ranks you lower because speed is part of how it judges pages — so fewer people find you in the first place.

The causes are usually a short and predictable list, which is why this is one of the most reliable improvements you can buy.

What I hold my own site to

Buying speed work from someone whose own site is slow is a bad trade. Here is mine, measured by Google, and you can re-run it yourself.

Signs you need this

What’s included

Image work

Resizing, compression and modern formats. Almost always the single biggest win, and usually where most of the weight is hiding.

Code and script audit

Render-blocking scripts, unused plugins and third-party tags that each add a wait to every page load.

Caching and delivery

Configured properly so the server stops rebuilding every page for every visitor.

Before and after report

Real Lighthouse numbers on both sides. You can verify every claim I make yourself.

How it works

  1. 1

I measure your current numbers on the homepage and a service page.

  2. 2

You get a written list of what is slow and what each fix is worth.

  3. 3

One price, one date, agreed before anything begins.

  4. 4

The work happens on a copy and is measured again before launch.

  5. 5

You get the before/after report with the invoice.

Common questions

How fast should my website be?
The main content should appear within 2.5 seconds on a mobile connection. Under a second is achievable for most small business sites. If you are at six or seven seconds — which is common — the first round of work usually gets you most of the way.
Will faster loading improve my Google ranking?
It helps, though it is one signal among many. Think of it as a tiebreaker: between two similarly relevant pages, the faster one wins. When you are competing locally against a handful of similar businesses, tiebreakers decide it.
Do I need a new website to make it faster?
Usually not. Most slow sites are slow because of oversized images, too many plugins and missing caching — all fixable on the site you already have.
